Why an order confirmation?
Weeks lie between “go ahead” on the phone and the finished work — the order confirmation freezes the state: which work, which price, which schedule, which payment plan. It protects both sides and, for verbally placed orders, is often the only document that proves the contract content.
From quote to order — without double work
The confirmation references the quote instead of copying it: “work per quote no. X” plus the agreed changes. The document stays short and deviations stand out. In DasHandwerk.xhub the accepted quote becomes the work order directly — no retyping.
Frequent questions about the order confirmation
Is an order confirmation mandatory?
No — but it is your proof of the contract content, especially for orders placed by phone or handshake. In a dispute, what is documented counts.
What if the customer objects to the confirmation?
Then it has done exactly its job: disagreements surface before material is ordered and dates are blocked. Clarify the deviation and confirm again.
Should a payment plan be included?
For larger orders, yes — a deposit on order and instalments by progress are standard in the trades and protect your liquidity. The template has a dedicated line for it.
